Hi everyone!

I’m trying to lose weight and fat (primarily fat), but the problem is that I really, REALLY hate to get dressed and on the treadmill just to run for half an hour or so — I need variety! Which is why I enjoy yoga so much. So first, I was wondering if a yoga/pilates-based workout routine will be effective in my endeavor to slim down. Here’s my plan so far:

Monday: 1 hour yoga for abs/core/upper body
Tuesday: 1 hour yoga for legs/butt
Wednesday: 1 hour cardio
Thursday: 30 minutes yoga, 30 minutes pilates for abs/core/upper body
Friday: 30 minutes yoga, 30 minutes pilates for legs/butt
Saturday: 1 hour cardio
Sunday: rest

Note: I don’t actually have access to a gym, so I do all of this will be done at my house. The intensity of the yoga will be vigorous, done at an advanced-intermediate level. In conjunction with this routine, I’d also be eating a diet of around 1400 calories per day.

Will doing a routine that’s primarily based on yoga give me a lean body?

Thanks so much!

Oh yea, definitely! I’m a weightlifting kind of guy, but my ex-girlfriend had me do pilates with her and Omg, that was hard as hell, I was sore too, sounds like you have a good plan, and the calories are right where they should be, not too low, not too high.
