Still Losing weight, but hit a plateau, need help getting back on track?
July 3rd, 2009 by | Filed under General Talking. So i started my diet/exercise on december 1st, 2008. today is June 26th, 2009 nearly 7 months later and i have went from 305 lbs. to 247 lbs. almost 60 pounds in 7 months. however. this past month i have been struggling to lose weight. i have only lost about 3 pounds this month. and i havent really been cheating on my diet. i still try to eat less than 1600 calories a day. but i cant exercise as much as id like to. sometimes i can only do 30 minutes of exercise every couple of days because of college.
If anyone has any information or tips that might help get me back down the right path (dieting/exercises/ect.) that they could share, i would greatly appriciate it.
also, im 18 years old if that matters.

you need to increase your calories to about 1800, because your a boy and to lose the weight. i know it sounds silly but its true. Also, up your cardio to a longer session or try sprinting 2 min, walking one, do that for 20-30 min, also try and elliptical and don’t forget to up the inlcine. And lifting weights can also make a huge difference, to build muscle and burn fat.
best wishes (:
After a while, you can reach a plateau in your diet, meaning that the same exercise isn’t doing you justice. It’s really good that you’re still going; I don’t even know you and I’m proud of you. :]
On the days you can only work out 30 minutes, try working out HARDER (running faster, more repetitions etc) or doing weight-lifting. As long as you keep going, that’s what counts. Just now you need to do more work to keep going.
Good luck!
Eat whole, naturally occuring foods. Nothing processed, packaged or anything with added sugar, salt, artificial sweetners or preservatives.
Live by this quote: "If you can’t hunt it, fish it, pick it from a tree, bush or the ground, DON’T eat it."
I highly recomend Interval Training. It is very similar to circuit training. It combines cardio(for fat burning) and resistance training(for building lean muscle tissue) into one workout. These are very fast and effective workouts that don’t have you spending hours in the gym. Most of them you can do at home! No fancy equip-ment needed.
For example, pick 6 exercises. Complete each one for 30 seconds without rest in between. That equals 1 round. After each round rest 60-90 seconds then repeat whole circuit 3-5 more times. I like to do a bodyweight circuit(no added weights, just your bodyweight used as resistance) => squats, push-ups, planks, lunges, pull-ups & mountain climbers. Three rounds of those 6 exercises is an AWESOME workout and it only takes me 12 minutes!!!!
hope this helps!
The quick weight loss methods ussually do not provide lasting results, so you should be warry about that.|Do not starve your self(it never works, although that’s the first thought that crosses anyone’s mind when thinking to lose weight)|Start your day right. Mothers always say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Have a healthy meal in the morning to jump-start your metabolism.}Drink lots of water. Your body needs sufficient water to burn fat and keep your cells hydrated and healthy.Watch your fat intake.Fat is not the culprit to being overweight. You need this to keep your weight at the proper level.
Here’s some other quick tips for you:
* Stuff vegetables like capsicum and zucchini with flavored fillings or minced chicken, white meat or fish. These are healthy and contain low fat.
* Consult the doctor before beginning an exercise or weight loss program.
* As much as possible do not remove the skins of fruits and vegetables since most of the nutrients are concentrated under the skin.
* Look for a weight loss "buddy," club, or support mates. This will motivate you to stay and enjoy your weight loss program.
* Substitute baking soda, baking powder, MSG and soya sauce in cooking.
If you have started losing weight, just remember it’s a question of will. Keep doing what your’re doing, stay away from junk food and sodas, and you will feel more healthier and alive than never before.
