Are grains important when losing weight?
July 3rd, 2009 by | Filed under General Talking.I have read that whole grains are important, but are they when you are trying to lose weight? I have noticed that graisn especially whole grains contain a ton of calories, a lot more than fruits and vegetables. IF you cut back to 1 serving of grains a day is that ok?

Grains are very important to lose weight because they are loaded with fiber and really help to flush your system often taken unhealthy fats with them. They are higher calorie than fruits and vegetables, but everything is. You just have to watch how much you eat of it. Here’s how I include them in my diet: Breakfast: Cheerios (very low cal cereal & lots of whole grains), with blueberries & skim or soy milk, Lunch: Tuna or Turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread (the key to this is to not eat a huge portion of bread, for example, I’ll usually only use one piece of bread for the sandwich instead of two, this cuts calories) Dinner: stir fry with brown rice (a whole grain) or something else using either whole wheat pasta, whole wheat bread etc. I also eat oatmeal for dinner a lot or for breakfast. Oatmeal is very good for losing weight, but is filling. Good luck!
