I am 6'3 only 120 pounds 16 years of age I eat and eat but nothing seems to happen HELP Please I need to gain weight for basketball for next year.

    chill… youll get there,
    well eat some snacks like chips soda etc. fast food, and eat at night that will help also make sure you sleep a lot take some naps and youll be hungry so just eat sit watch tv basket ball games and when done go take a nap. works very well!

How do I gain weight?

I'm 5'8" and I'm 110 pounds. I know I am skinny, and my family always makes remarks about it. I want to gain more weight, but I'm not sure how. I want to do it without having to buy a whole bunch of stuff (protein shakes, gym memberships etc). What kind of exercise should I do, is there a food I should eat alot?

    build muscle you probably don't have much muscle.
    muscle weighs more than fat.
    and don't feel you have to gain weight.
    some people bodys are different, when they eat they don't always gain as much weight as people

    hey your family are only remarking about your weight cos of jelousy. tell them to bugger off. accept yourself there is nothing wrong with being skinny the only time there is something wrong with being skinny is if your making yourself ill to be that thin. don't bother making your self put on weight i would do anything to be like you

    Eat high Calorie foods… but make sure they are still healthy ones (bananas for example). If you want to truly gain weigh stick to heavy bodybuilding… aerobics will only make you lean… but not more beefy er.. so to speak. Hope I helped.

    NO worst think u can do is eat junk food, eat a lot of pasta and meat. Then do weight training heavy weights, not too heavy though, u need to bench press, and use dunbells, also do sit ups and push ups, make sure u eat a lot of meat and pasta though so it fills u up, STEAK is good for the build up.

    I work out with people all the time that are in the same situation, and i tell them all the same thing! Eat more! Say you eat three meals a day, eat five to six. Your metabolism is great so it breaks down the food faster. Eat alot of protein (tuna, red meat, peanuts, etc) and try not to do so much cardio. Do more weight training so what you will do instead of doing reps you have to work towards building muscle so do max sets. more weight!! try it! it will work! weight gainers can always help do just go to a GNC or somewhere like that!

    My husband used to be the same way. He uses a body building book called: The New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding: The Bible of Bodybuilding, Fully Updated and Revised by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

    He also eats food that is high in protein, like meat.
    He uses protein shakes too, and although they look like they cost a lot, they really don't because you don't use a lot of it at one time. One of those containers lasts quite a while.

    The exercises are less reps- more weight, opposed to people who want to tone and lose weight with more reps and less weight.

    Buy protein shakes i would recommend muscle milk, up your mass, or mass pro complex gainer. I'm 16 yrs. old and i had the same problem when i was 14. i went from 124 to 142 in about 4 months. You need to lift weights and when you do do strength excersices. Likke bench press, squat, and deadlifts. Your meal should be carbs, starches, and protein. Eat baked potatoes, pastas, beef, and fish. Eating junkfood will not help you dont listen to those silly comments. It sounds like you got a fast metabolism so eating junk wont do anything if you crap it all out. Believe me :)

    Eating is the first and most important factor that is needed for proper weight gain. It's simple – you need to eat more calories than you burn. This does not mean eating anything and everything that is not nailed down. Carefully plan your meals with foods that will help you gain lean mass, not fat. I suggest 6 meals. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and three other small meals scheduled throughout the day. The goal is to eat every 2.5 to 3 hours.
    Focus on foods such as steak, chicken, fruit, milk, vegetables, cheese and assorted types of nuts. It's recommended to eat 4 – 6 pieces of fresh fruit a day, and at least four tall glasses of milk. Milk is a great, cheap protein source – take advantage of it. A sample snack meal would be a glass of milk, an apple, and a hand full of peanuts.

    Eat a lot of fast food and eat lost of chocolate decrease your exercise and eat your last meal of the day after 7 because your metabolism slows down after 7pm

how do i gain weight?

im 5'10" 150 lb. im very active i play basketball daily. im up early from 7am to 10am ill be running up and down the court. i then go to work at 2 and get out around 7. i play some more bball till 9. i burn many calories and i cant gain weight. i can some one give me some ideas on how to consume more calories

    You might try one of the nutritional supplemental drinks that are high in calories three times a day. They also have the required nutrients you need. If you will at right before you go to bed you stand a better chance of gaining weight. In my opinion, you really aren't skinny anyway, and give n time, you will probably start gainng weight. Cut down on the physical exerciseso much at night, and that way you won't burn so many calories.

    It is simple. You need to take in more calories than you burn during the day and you will gain weight. You can use supplements which can help you put on the pounds.

    Eat a LOT of potato chips, cake, and Burger King now and then and then burn the fat off. But you should still eat healthy too so eat a lot of fruits, veggies, and um… meats!!!

    You might just not be able to for a while, and that's perfectly normal. However, take second and third helpings of meals (if it's healthy), work on building up your muscles (muscles outweigh everything else, and most of what you do is cardiovascular, which is mostly calorie burning), and if you get desperate, pull out the junk food and chow down.

    Eating a big supper every night would help as you burn up very few calories in your sleep.

    Plenty of fattening nuts would help as well.

    Firstly, it may be hard to gain weight at that age, especially if you have a high metabolism. Otherwise, there's a very simple formula. Eat more carbs, excercise less. Thats to get more fat. Now for muscle (heavier than fat, harder to gain), Eat more, excercise more and then eat more!!!!

    brewing yeast. It has a lot of vitamin B, too. It will make you gain weight in a week. Either buy at pharmacies, as supplement, or in any place which specializes in brewing. Three pills a day/three tablespoons a day – depends on the product, and you are there. Good for bones and hair as well.

    it is normal to be thin at that age. To gain weight, you just simply eat more calories than you burn off every day. There are a few websites that will work out how many calories you need every day, once you know that, just eat more.

    So you want to gain weight, well in order to do that you need to eat right. The best way to gain weight is to eat more towards the end of the day rather than earlier in the day. So you should start taking your protein after 3 and another one right before bed. You do this because in the morning your metabolism is very high, but later on in the day it slows down. Don't get me wrong you should eat a full breakfast too, but you also need to eat a big lunch and dinner, along with your protein shakes. You shouldn't rely on the protein shakes because you need to eat alot of high carb foods with it too. Such as bread, steak, chicken, etc

    here's a schedule to go by

    breakfast-bowl a cereal, orange juice, protein bar

    before lunch around 3- protein shake

    lunch- high protein, high carb lunch- chicken, steak,etc

    dinner- same as lunch- pasta, fish, etc

    right before bed- 2nd protein shake

    It is really hard to gain wait at that age but eating some heavier foods a few times a week can help to gain wait. Like fried foods, corn bread, sweets, and lots of carbs.

    Wait. You're at a age where you are burning a lot of food just by merely growing. Rather do toning and muscle building exercises to build muscle which is heavier and fat and looks far better.

    Also eat healthily rather than overeat. Good solid meals with all your food groups (carbohydrates, protein, etc) and correct servings of each are key to achieving and maintaining a good weight.

I am 20 years old 5'4'' and 106 pounds. I need to gain weight because I look rather skinny. I go to the gym every other day and I have noticed muscle growth, but my weight has not changed. I probably have a fast metabolism. What can I eat or drink (excluding very unhealthy foods) to slow it down and gain weight?

    You need to eat more calories than you burn each day.

    Add cheese, nuts and dressings made with olive, walnut or canola oil to salads.
    Eat starchy vegetables such as potatoes and corn more often.
    Go for dried fruits or fruit juices as healthy higher calorie snacks.
    Add cream or cheese sauces to fish and baked chicken breast.
    Choose herbs and spices to increase the flavors of your food rather than relying on salt.
    Add powdered milk to soups and sauces to offer calories and protein.
    Spread Peanut butter on whole grain bread, apples or celery sticks to get a great source of protein and calories.
    Stick with healthy desserts, such as a bowl of berries with whipped topping and lot of chopped nuts.
    Spoon healthy salad dressings on sandwiches and as a dip for vegetables.
    Dip whole grain bread into olive oil, walnut oil or flax seed oil. If you don't care for much meat, add legumes such as black beans, kidney beans and pinto beans as protein sources.
    Pick dark chocolate as a treat. Dark chocolate has antioxidants that other sweets don't have.

    In the morning when you get up, crack two raw eggs into a cup, mix it with milk and you will gain weight. To increase it, take some amino acid pills from GNC or weight gainer with it. Eating bananas in the after noon or a peanut butter sandwich is a fast way to gain. If you don't work out while doing this, it will turn into fat around your gut.

    oh yeah.. i have the same problem.. i needed to gain weight because last 3months, i weighted 90pounds im 19yrs old and 5'1" in height! imagine that? oh well, what i did is, i ate peanut butter regularly than the usual before. peanut butter in bananas, bread, and salad..(d' truth is, i really hate p.butter before, but got no choice but to like it.) they just suggested it to me.. then. i take more than 8 glasses a day. eat light meals before going to bed and black chocolates.
    NOW, i weighted 120lbs. for me its an achievement already..
    of course, i still do a lot of exercise with it, so that the fat will go to their proper places… gOOd Luck..

how do i gain weight?

i am 17 years old and 90 pounds. NOT anorexic or any eating disorder and i have a bmi of like 15 or so…im tired of eating alot to gain weight because all it does is make me unhealthy (yeah doctor put me on a veggie diet cuz of my eating habits). i want to get a weight gain powder or something easy to gain weight because im unhappy with it. im afraid of the supplements because too much protein isnt too good for the kidneys.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I AM DESPERATE…HELP?!
yes i have tried ensure and it didnt help….also i am 5' 7

    Unless you are over 5 feet tall, don't worry about it. A good rule of thumb is 100 pounds for 5 feet, then 5 more or less pounds for each inch +/-

    If you are not allergic, eat nuts. They have more calories and have healthy fats (omega-3) like walnuts & whole almonds.

    You have to eat more than you burn to gain weight.

    record what you eat now, and add 200 calories to it. your weight will slowly reach a normal number. eating as much as you can is definitely not healthy, and your body will get used to it and develop an eating disorder.

    even better, just eat 2000 calories a day. you'll reach the normal bmi.

    Gaining weight is as difficult for some as losing it is for others, and it is NOT as easy as simply going on a diet where you ignore "diet" or "light" foods.

    I'm in the same boat as you. I eat massive amounts of food (upwards of 2300 calories per day), I take supplements and I was even put on steroids. The results have been marginal, but hey, I am gaining weight.

    I reckon it's safe to say it's just as hard for folks like us to pack on some pounds (and staying healthy) as it is for other folks to lose weight.

    Have you tried things such as Boost or Ensure?

how do i gain weight?

im 5 ft 2 in. and 75 pounds! it completly obviouse i need to gain weight but i have been trying to gain weight for the past month and nada! i hate being called skinny at school and always being picked on and not fitting in to clothes, i need a plain i can stay on.

    1) Eat foods that are high in good fats including those that come from fish, avocados and nuts. Avoid high calorie ‘ sweets’ that will only add fat not muscle to your frame. You should also ensure that you are consuming adequate amounts of whole grains and proteins.

    2) Take a multi vitamin and mineral supplement every day.

    3) Exercise, particularly strength train. Strength training will help you build muscle mass, which in turn will help fill out your figure.

    4) Try eating five to six smaller meals per day. Keep your body Full of high density and high energy foods that will keep you energized throughout the day.

    Oh, wow, you are really thin. But it's okay, you just have a fast metabolism and that can't be helped.

    Perhaps you just don't have the proper knowledge to gain weight. Are you just throwing down an extra donut and bag of chips to gain weight? That really won't help too much, unless you eat a lot of it, then that would be too unhealthy.

    Eat like 2500 calories per day and try to be as healthy as possible with these calories (remember a cookie here and there for a bonus 200 calories won't hurt), with 100 grams of protein.

    Your probably wondering why all the protein. I think you should start lifting weights. Do a lot of lifting for your legs, because if your legs got bigger with muscle, you would gain more weight than say if you increase muscle in your arms. Go to the gym and do some squats, leg extensions, and leg curls. You could also do plyometrics for leg strength and size. Lift heavy. Like 3 sets of 5 reps, and increase the weight once you can do more than 5 reps.

    Lift lighter for your upper body. 3 sets of 9-12 reps should be good.

    Start off light the first few weeks to get your body used to it.

    If your not gaining any weight in the first 1-3 weeks, eat more.

How do I gain weight?

I'm like 5"5 and i weight about 102 pounds. I eat A LOT and when i eat i gain about a pound but then i lose even more weight when i get hungry again.Any tips or websites that will help me?

    Eat lots of small meals … pasta, potatoes, and bread.

    But why? You might not like your skinny self now, but when you are older and are stuck with those extra pounds you may regret it.

    Refocus on core training & just plain old good nutrition.

    The only thing it seems you are doing wrong is that you are worring about something you shouldn't.

    you should see your doctor, my sister is the same way…and she eats like a freaking pig! lol
    idk but know she works out so shes all muscle type body, and she weighs more. so try working out so appear a little bigger, but see your doc. why your not puytting on any weight

I know this is kind of a odd question because everyone asks how to gain weight. But im 16 years of age i am 5 Foot 10 Inches and only weigh 133 pounds. I can eat like a pig one day but the next day not be hungry or days i just eat an average amount. I want to gain weight cause im tired of hearing "Your to skinny". I really dont care what people think about me but i think my weight is unhealthy for me. I want to fill out. Ive been lifting alot its been hard to be able to gain muscle when there is no room for it. PLEASE HELP!!

    eat something which has good amounts of good fats like monounsaturated .

    Eat higher calorie foods! — Choose dried fruit, starchy vegetables, dense whole grain breads and cereals, hearty bean soups, nuts…

    concentrate more on
    -nuts like almonds ,cashews,pistachios,peanuts etc
    -brown rice is fattening
    -fruits like bananas,mangos,cherries,dried fruits r dense in calories.dates r healthy n high caloric
    -veggies like avacados,potatoes,beans
    -whole milk,tofu,cheese,soy milk

    dont rely on ice creams,cakes ….junk food.it might help increase ur weight tremendously but it also spoils ur health tremendously .

    my sister has the same "problem"
    DO NOT try to gain weight by pigging out.
    its unheathly. you can work out to bring musle and stuff.
    dont listen to other ppl. you'd rather be skinny than fat.
    just eat small meals throughout the day. eat when u are hungry, stop when your full. no matter what. try to stay away from chemicals (like soda, mcdonalds, ya noe) and sugar.

    PS. your just naturally skinny. dont forse your body to be something that it wasnt made to be.
    and its not good to be obsessing about your weight. try to forget about it. ppl who are small-boned shouldnt be more weight-obessed than ppl who are chunky. lol just hang tite

    my suggestion for you is not to go for any weight gain pills, eating too much won't help you.

    just eat 3 times daily , a meal full of proteins, include eggs in ur diet and daily in the night 2 hours before sleeping, take a meduin glass full of milk and 2 bananas with milk. if u take this milk and banana daily in the night , u can observer weight gain after 1 month.

    i am sure this milk+ banana tip will help u

    Eat. Im sure everyone else tells you the same. To gain a nice healthy weight eat at the right times. 6-7 times a day. Big breakfast packed with proteins (eggs, bacon, sausage, etc.) Carbs (fruits or toast)… Mid AM snack Almonds or other nuts with some yogurt and fruit. Lunch basic lunch like a chicken salad sandwich or whatver you like to eat for lunch. Mid Afternoon snack Celery and Peanut Butter (natural) or some other combo. Protein shake after your workout, or something else that gives you a 2:1 protein to carb ratio. Dinner have a nice lean piece of meat with a side of veggies. Personally i dont eat dry carbs after 8pm. like no pastas, chips, or breads. For me that keeps me looking smaller. But if you keep it to a minimum it should be fine. Now for the most important part, the mid night snack. The delta waves of the sleep cycle, your deepest sleep, is the best time during the day to build muscle. So before bed (within 2hrs) eat another 2:1 protein to carb ratio. To gain weight best have a big PB&J on whole wheat bread with a big glass of Milk… a bowl of cereal or cottage cheese and fruit works as well but they dont give big gains. Sprinkle flax seed on cereal, yogurt, or however else you think you can take it. Also try fish oil if you feel you want to. I have noticed the oil itself works better than the pills because its easier for your body to absorb. Hope that all works

How do I gain weight?

Okay, this seems like a REALLY odd question. But I'm as skinny as a stick! I would really like to be aveerage, for i am being teased about being aneorexic. I also have a fast metabolsim, so i never seem to gain weight even if I eat.

What excersises would be appropriate? I already run a mile or two once a week.

And, also, i would prefer not to pig out, because everytime i do, i just weigh the same. And plus, it isn't that healthy

    ok first off you should think that you are bueatuifll the way you are but if you wanna gain weight try caltine bars football players eat them or if you go to GNC you can buy a 30 pound weight gain milkshake powder my step uncle drinks and it realy works

    Whatever you do DO NOT start eating junk food! Excersie is good! You will gain muscle mass rather than fat and it is healthier. Eat protein and pastas, rice. If you smoke, stop smoking (that also keeps weight at bay and is un healthy). Good luck!

    To get big you need to eat more calories than you burn. If you don't do this simple, most important step, you won't gain weight. If you aren't gaining weight and think you're eating as much as you can, count your calories and you'll see that you're probably eating a lot less than what you think you are.

    nah trust me dont get fat. what you want is to build muscle you wont look as skinny and youll look hott. eat lots of meat and do weight excersices like push ups, sit ups, squats. youll get curves and the muscle will make you look bigger but not fat. . protein builds body mass not fat. youll look thicker but not have a floppy belly and love handles. protein can be found in meat like steak chicken fish whatever. its good and it helps trust me nothing is hottr than a good sized chick.

    Well to gain weight in a healthy way, all you have to do is increase your portions!
    So if you eat like maybe 4 servings of meat everyday, for example, eat more like maybe 6-7 servings instead.
    Eat more fruits and nuts, etc.
    ..or you could go crazy on the fatty foods like chips etc but you might not feel so good… so just do it in a healthy way :D but you could throw in some chips because they suuuree are tasty! haha (x and ice cream/candy, etc.

    & your lucky you have fast metabolism! Because of that, it might take you a little longer than most people to gain weight, but you will gain eventually if you eat more – but still in a healthy way.

    Yes running is a great exercise. It can help you gain muscle and make you gain weight too – like situps, pushups, etc. Hope you achieve your goal!

    eat at least 2,300 calories a day through high calorie, but still healthy foods such as pasta, bread, cheese, nuts, crackers, etc. also, if you exercise a lot, make sure you eat even more carbs. and start doing weight training. this will bulk you up a bit but dont worry about ending up looking like a guy… this is pretty much impossible unless you train like hard core. so just start with simple weight training and make sure only to do it every other day or else your muscles wont have to time to rebuild (weight training rips your muscles so they build back stronger). so, i hope i helped! and maybe take a look at seventeen.com's fitness and health section, they might have something there to help you. oh, and another good site is http://kidshealth.org/teen/... even if it doesnt have anything to answer your question, im sure youll find something useful on there. so, i hope i helped, and good luck! :D <3

    I have the same exact prob. and I would burn so much energy that I got under 100 lb.s it scared the shit out of me … boost and none of that other crap worked … so my Dr. perscribed me something called Megestrol (I think it's generally used for cancer patience.) it works great I gained 20 lb.s in less than a month. (It taste nasty though.) And dont over do it you probably only need one perscription of it. I would suggest it to your doc. if you're concerned about your weight.

    Eat more calories in a day. Not like fatty food calories, but more like vitamins, protein etc. Try eating 6 slightly smaller meals a day, rather than eating 3 large meals. Also you can drink like protein shakes or Ensure for a snack or whatever. You should still continue to exercise though because that's just good for your entire body like your heart and what not.

    umm ok people are saying not to exerisize but it might be a good idea to because you coukd gain weight in mucsle and try to eat after you run and also eating before might help a little…..but also just try to be happy with yourself people alot of girls would probably kill to be as thin as you! how old are you? you might gain as you get older? look at your parent are they both very thin bc if not i might get bigger with age! good luck
